What DriveOnRent is
DriveOnRent is a marketplace. The vehicles listed on this site belong to independent rental businesses — we call them dealers — who set their own prices, their own terms and their own availability. We are not a rental company: we do not own the vehicles, we do not hire them out, and we are not a party to the rental agreement you make with a dealer.
What we do is publish those listings, check the businesses behind them, put a customer and a dealer in touch, and keep a record of the booking. By using this site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service.
Booking a vehicle
- A booking is a request: when you send a booking it goes to the dealer, who accepts or declines it. Nothing is confirmed and nothing is owed until they accept. You can follow the request from your account, or from the tracking link if you booked without one.
- The price you are shown: is worked out from the dealer's daily rate and the dates you chose, counting both the first and last day of the rental. Anything beyond the rate — a kilometre allowance, fuel, a driver's hours — is whatever that listing states. Where a listing says nothing, it has not been agreed and you should ask the dealer before you collect the vehicle.
- Where it starts and ends: a vehicle is collected in the city it is listed in. Whether it may be returned somewhere else is the dealer's decision and is stated on the listing; some allow it only with their approval.
- Who may drive: you must hold a valid licence and meet any age or licence-length condition the dealer states. The dealer checks this at handover and may refuse the vehicle if it is not met.
Paying for a rental
- You pay the dealer directly. DriveOnRent does not collect your rental payment, does not take a deposit from you, and never asks for card details for a booking. Anyone asking you to pay DriveOnRent for a rental is not us — tell us at support@driveonrent.pk.
- Security deposits: where a listing states one, it is held by the dealer and returned by the dealer under their own terms. It is never part of the rental price and it does not pass through us.
- Fines, tolls and damage: are settled with the dealer under the terms shown on the listing. A traffic fine often arrives weeks after the rental ends, which is why each dealer states who carries it.
Changes and cancellations
Cancellation is the dealer's policy, not ours, and it is shown on the listing before you book — including any free-cancellation window they offer. A request that has not been accepted yet can simply be withdrawn; after that, their terms apply. Because we take no payment from you, we issue no refunds: any refund is between you and the dealer.
A dealer may decline a request, and may cancel an accepted booking in circumstances such as a vehicle being damaged or off the road. We record both, and repeated cancellations count against a dealer's standing on the platform.
Your account
- Accurate details: the name and phone number you give are passed to the dealer once they accept a booking, and are how they reach you about the vehicle. A booking made with details that are not yours can be cancelled.
- Keep your sign-in to yourself: you are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at once if you think somebody else has access to it.
- Lawful use: do not use the site to defraud, harass, scrape at scale, or list a vehicle you have no right to hire out. We may suspend an account that does.
Terms for dealers
These apply in addition to everything above if you sign up as a dealer and list vehicles.
- Your business is checked before your vehicles are public. You give us your business details and documents; an admin reviews them. Until your business is verified, and until each listing is approved, your vehicles are not shown to customers. Changing a verified detail — your business name, owner, registration number, phone, address or city — sends your profile back for review and takes your listings off the site until it is checked again.
- You owe us a service fee on completed bookings. The customer pays you directly and we take nothing from them. Instead you owe DriveOnRent a percentage of each completed booking. The rate that applies to you, everything it has been charged on, and the balance outstanding are all shown under Billing in your dealer dashboard. There are no payouts to wait for and we hold no money of yours.
- Unpaid fees suspend your listings. Fees accrue as an outstanding balance against a credit limit shown in your dashboard. When the balance reaches that limit your vehicles come off the public site and your account is suspended until it is settled. Your existing bookings and your data are not deleted, and everything returns when the balance is cleared.
- Your listings must be true. Photos must be of the actual vehicle, and its specification, condition, prices and terms must be accurate and kept up to date. You must hold the right to hire out every vehicle you list, and it must be roadworthy, registered and insured as the law requires. We may remove a listing, or an account, that is not.
- You set your terms, and you honour them. Your cancellation window, fuel policy, minimum age, licence requirement, deposit and any late fee are yours to set and are published to customers on every vehicle you list. What a customer read when they booked is what applies to that booking.
- Answer your bookings. A request that is never answered is a customer left waiting for a car. We measure response and acceptance, we show it on your dashboard, and it affects where your vehicles appear.
- Customer details are for the booking. You receive a customer's name and number when you accept their request, to arrange that rental. Do not use them for anything else, and do not pass them on.
What our badges mean
- DriveOnRent Verified: we have checked that the business behind the listing exists, and seen its documents. It is a check on the business — not a guarantee of any particular vehicle, price or rental.
- Verified insurance: we have seen an insurance certificate for that vehicle and it had not expired when the page was shown. It is not our insurance, we are not the insurer, and what the policy actually covers is between the dealer and their insurer — ask the dealer what it covers before you drive.
- No badge is not an accusation. Most listings simply have not been through a check yet. The absence of a badge means we have not looked, not that something is wrong.
Limitation of liability
The rental agreement is between you and the dealer. We are not responsible for the condition of a vehicle, for a dealer failing to provide one, for anything that happens during a rental, or for a dispute between you about damage, fines or a deposit. We will help where we can: we hold the record of the booking and what was advertised, and we act on dealers who do not honour what they published.
We do not promise the site is uninterrupted or error-free, and to the extent the law allows we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Privacy
We collect what the service needs: your account details, your bookings, and — for dealers — business and vehicle documents used for verification. A customer's contact details reach a dealer only when that dealer accepts their booking. Vehicle registration numbers and documents a dealer uploads are used for verification and are never published.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service changes. The date at the top of this page is when they last changed, and the version published here is the one that applies. Where a change materially affects dealers — the service fee, or how suspension works — we will tell you before it takes effect.
